About Fluffy Ducks
Fluffy Ducks began with one mum, a sewing machine, and a determination to make cloth nappies better.
Sheree Palmer, founder and creator of Fluffy Ducks, started the business after struggling to find a reusable nappy that truly worked for her own family. She wanted something trim, stylish, functional, and genuinely reliable. After multiple design iterations, she created “the one”; a nappy that parents could trust.
Named after her son’s cheeky newborn nickname (thanks to a permanently fluffy lock of hair), Fluffy Ducks was built from the ground up with heart, grit, and a deep commitment to sustainability. What began as a small family venture quickly became a much-loved New Zealand cloth nappy brand.
And that foundation still matters.
CHAPTER TWO 🧡
We’re Laura and Layamon, and we’re incredibly proud to now be the caretakers of Fluffy Ducks.
Long before we owned the business, we were customers.
When our first son Jack (now 2½) was born, we dove headfirst into the world of modern cloth nappies. We tried nearly every major brand available in New Zealand. Different styles. Different fits. Different systems.
But we always came back to Fluffy Ducks.
They just worked.
The fit. The trim design. The quality of the inserts. The reliability. The fact that they genuinely felt bomb-proof without being bulky. When our second son Hugo arrived six months ago, there was never any question what nappies we’d be reaching for.
So when the opportunity arose to take over this beautiful little business, it felt incredibly aligned. We weren’t just buying a brand; we were stepping into something we already believed in.

WHAT’S AHEAD
As parents in the thick of nappies ourselves (two boys under three keeps us busy!), we understand firsthand what families need: simplicity, reliability, and products that genuinely make life easier.
Our vision for Fluffy Ducks is to honour what’s been built while continuing to grow the community around it. We want to support more families in choosing reusable, bust myths about cloth being “too hard,” and keep creating products that are practical, joyful, and built to last.
Because for us, it’s not just about saving money (although that holiday to Raro still sounds pretty good 😉).
It’s about leaving our beautiful little corner of the world better for our kids.
